Success was defined variously by various entrepreneurs in different industries. To entertainment industry classifying success surely is not an easy one. Having to work on different aspects to give the perfect ambiance to its people surely consumes a lot of legwork and energy to make it a successful night.
Have you ever attended an event? Be it a gala night, fashion show, dinner dance or maybe even a birthday party. You might walk out of that event either having an awesome night or either feeling a waste of time. It is because although all of us carry a common trait, like birthday party planning or organizing, not many succeed to understand its attendees and the main purpose of the event to lead to a failed show.
But not many considers using that advantage to learn and maximize the trait to the next level of giving it value. A family event planning is not as difficult as having a public event organized but could be an added experience to understand how to manage and sort things. Planning an event can be daunting effort. Any missteps can have critical repercussions for your mission and your brand down the line.

To him, it was a difficult migration to, adjust to school with his Turban that was part of his belief and comprehend a new language and a culture. He was bullied for his culture that added to the temptation of dropping out of school.
After walking out, in middle of the exams, Raj later decided to join his father’s company as a Sales Associate where he is introduced to newer opportunities which challenged his daily routine. Just as he started feeling optimistic and creating a stance in his fathers’ firm, referendum took charge in Quebec where the firm and the family suffered a huge loss.
Life took tum for the family and Raj who was constantly beaten down of his optimism, when his father decided to relocate to Toronto. Although he was miserably failing, the 6 hour drive relocating didn’t take long to realise that it was a wise risk taken.
With working experience gained at his fathers’ firm and the French language, he starts his first career, out of his family business, as a Sales Associate at a furniture company. He was able to make enough impact in the furniture company, where he was able to it write it off as the last job after becoming the CEO of Sales in Canada and USA. This opened new doors and wings for him to chase his dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and giving light to Entertainment Guru.
How he started Entertainment Guru?
The rise to Entertainment Guru was a reason behind a younger cousin who owned a DJ company approached him for a sponsorship to an event. He said he questioned him on what he gains through the event to which his cousin replied “ I love to make people dance and happy.”
“Those innocent words just blew my mind and i asked him if he was looking for a partner. That’s where we shook hands with each other” said Raj. His only investment was commitment and time towards bringing new innovative ideas and to bring smiles to the people.
“It’s not an easy task to sell tickets, and even harder to get sponsors but we did it because of our leg work and time invested in people. We gave value to our customers, we gave a platform to the new talents, we gave names to businesses, we gave consumers more value for their buck. I’ve learned how to make a win win situation for everyone. It took time and years and events to be where we are today. It was a very hard decision for me to leave my job to follow the dream I created with my partner to make people happy. I forgot how to live for myself while I was climbing the ladders of becoming a public figure,” said Raj.
How he made his first sale?
“That was very easy. With my very 1st smile and excitement, I just sold him from my heart and actually sold him what he wanted. I sold him the best product in his budget and I listened to him.”
What was it like in the beginning when you started?
“Everything seemed very easy and like a piece of cake in the beginning. But to maintain that image, challenges kept getting bigger and bigger.”
“Well, no one likes to talk about their mistakes till they lose everything, and I learned it the hard way, by losing my family. I chased after, keeping everyone else happy around me other than my family and I took them for granted. “
What motivated him to open the business where he sees himself in next few years?
“Well, as I explained earlier it all started with a dream, to bring happiness. With that, my life started changing and my vision started growing. So, now I dream to create a name in nationwide, the world wide as some great poet said Sky is limit.”
What mindset helped him to be successful?
“Emotion was a thing that kept me going. I was going through my family issues during that success. But then I saw people looking happy around me. I started getting recognition and praises. Then, I got inquiries on how I can make their weddings and their events more memorable. I just kept on bringing smiles on their faces while my personal issues faded in the background.”
His top 3 priorities as a business owner?
“The most important is Honesty, Integrity and strategic planning. Without these I wouldn’t be here.”
What does success mean to you?
“Success is to keep my audience engage all the time and they started following me with a smile all the time. Because they know I will create their valuable memories. My message to everyone out there is thank you in trusting me and Follow your passion, be prepared to work hard and sacrifice, and, above all, don’t let anyone limit your dreams”
